Overview

In January of 2018, NCSD opened its Pre-K program in the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Goodwin Center.  A highly qualified and dually-certified Teacher of the Deaf and Birth-Kindergarten educator and a seasoned, Deaf paraprofessional provide for naturalistic, bilingual exposure to direct communication in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English for students 3-5 years of age.  The Pre-K has immediate access to all related services housed in the Goodwin Center, including Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational and Physical Therapies. Professionals and families work together to promote growth in each of the six learning domains of child development: physical, language, aesthetic, cognitive, emotional and social.
