Adverse Weather School Closings

If NCSD is closed for students/staff, an announcement will be made with the following media sources:

WCIS - Morganton NBC 6 - Charlotte WFMY-TV Greensboro WMNC - Burke Media WLOS-TV Asheville WXII-TV Winston-Salem WSVM - Valdese WSOC-TV Charlotte News Herald - Morganton

If there is no announcement, then the buses will follow the regular schedule and the school will operate on a regular schedule. If you are unable to access school closing information through the above stations, you may call the school's weather information line at (828) 432-5300 for voice or (828) 432-5301 for TTY. As always, you may also reach the administrator on call by paging (828) 430-5300 (beeper) for a return call. NCSD has an automated notification system called "AlertNOW" which will notify parents/guardians via phone, cell phone or e-mail. It is very important that we have current phone numbers, e-mail addresses and the name of the person to contact on file. If there has been a change in your contact information, please inform the school secretaries as soon as possible.
